Automatic Subdivision Gate Installation in Jasper, GA

North Georgia Fence Company completed this automatic subdivision gate installation in Jasper, GA for Marble Ridge, a new residential development planned around seven premium homesites.

The developer had already created an impressive entrance with custom dual swing gates, substantial entrance columns and Marble Ridge signage. Our job was to provide the automation, access control, internet connectivity and automatic exit detection needed to turn that entrance into a complete controlled-access system.

We installed dual LiftMaster CSW200UL commercial swing gate operators, a LiftMaster CAPXS Smart Video Intercom, a Cartell CW-SYS wireless vehicle detection system, underground conduit and wiring, and a dedicated Starlink internet connection to provide connectivity for the smart access-control equipment.

The finished installation combines the developer's architectural entrance with commercial-grade gate automation and modern visitor access technology.

The Developer's Access-Control Requirements

Marble Ridge wasn't simply a homeowner looking to automate an existing driveway gate.

This entrance serves a brand-new residential development with seven high-value homesites, where the entrance itself contributes to the first impression of the community.

The developer had already invested in an impressive gate, stone columns and subdivision signage. The automation therefore needed to complement that entrance while providing dependable operation for residents, visitors, contractors and other authorized users.

The system needed several distinct capabilities:

  • automated operation of both gate leaves;
  • an appropriate operator system for a subdivision entrance;
  • visitor communication and controlled entry;
  • internet connectivity at the entrance;
  • automatic free exit for vehicles leaving the development;
  • protected underground conduit and wiring;
  • a finished installation that did not detract from the entrance architecture.

Planning the Marble Ridge Gate Automation System

Our site inspection centered on how to integrate the automation equipment into an entrance that had already been constructed.

Operator locations, concrete foundations, conduit routes, the CAPXS pedestal, electrical wiring, internet connectivity and vehicle detection all needed to function as parts of one system.

We selected dual LiftMaster CSW200UL commercial swing gate operators for the two gate leaves.

LiftMaster describes the CSW200UL as an AC high-traffic commercial swing-gate operator designed for applications including large gated communities and commercial facilities. It also integrates with LiftMaster access-control technology, making it well suited to an installation like Marble Ridge.

Concrete Pads, Conduit & Underground Infrastructure

Before installing the operators and access-control equipment, we prepared the infrastructure required to support the system.

Concrete pads were installed for the gate operators, and conduit was positioned to protect the electrical and control wiring.

This is the portion of an automatic gate installation that largely disappears when the project is finished—but it is also some of the most important work.

Proper equipment foundations and protected wiring routes help create a clean installation and make future service more manageable.

Dual LiftMaster CSW200UL Gate Operators

Once the foundations were ready, we installed the dual LiftMaster CSW200UL operators.

Each operator was mounted on its concrete pad, and the drive arms were fitted to the subdivision's existing swing gates.

The CSW200UL is specifically designed by LiftMaster for high-traffic commercial swing-gate applications and can integrate with LiftMaster's access-control ecosystem.

That made the operator a logical match for a development entrance where gate automation and electronic access control needed to work together as one system.

Underground Wiring to the CAPXS

The Smart Video Intercom required its own wiring and pedestal location near the entrance.

We used our Kwik Ditch trenching machine to cut the route for conduit and wiring between the access-control equipment and the gate system.

Using underground conduit keeps the required wiring protected while avoiding exposed cables around a high-end subdivision entrance.

CAPXS Smart Video Intercom & Starlink Connectivity

A major component of this project was the LiftMaster CAPXS Smart Video Intercom.

The CAPXS provides a video-based interface at the entrance so visitor access can be managed through LiftMaster's connected access-control platform. LiftMaster specifies Wi-Fi or Ethernet connectivity for the CAPXS and describes its myQ Community functionality as allowing residents to see and communicate with visitors before granting access.

The challenge at Marble Ridge was providing the internet connection needed at the entrance.

We solved that by installing a Starlink connection, giving the CAPXS the connectivity required for the smart access-control system.

That allowed us to bring connected video access control to an entrance where suitable conventional internet service was not otherwise available for the installation.

An RFID reader can easily be added to this setup, allowing residents to enter the development completely hands-free. NGFC installed a similar system for the City of Jasper Maintenance Department, enabling authorized city vehicles to access the maintenance yard quickly and conveniently.

Cartell Wireless Automatic Exit Detection

We also installed a Cartell CW-SYS Wireless Dual-Purpose System to provide automatic vehicle detection for vehicles leaving the development.

When a vehicle reaches the designated exit-detection area, the Cartell system signals the powered gate system to provide hands-free free exit.

Cartell specifically identifies the CW-SYS for integration with powered electric gate operators. Its wireless sensor eliminates the need for a wired connection from the vehicle-detection location all the way back to the gate operator.

The current Cartell documentation specifies at least 350 feet of radio range and more than 1,000 feet line-of-sight under suitable conditions, although actual range depends on terrain, vegetation, structures and installation conditions.

For a subdivision entrance, automatic free exit is particularly useful because residents and departing visitors don't need to stop at the intercom to leave the property.

Final Result: A Complete Gated Community Entrance

The completed Marble Ridge installation transformed the developer's architectural entrance into a fully automated, connected access-control system.

The finished project includes:

  • dual LiftMaster CSW200UL commercial swing gate operators;
  • concrete operator foundations;
  • protected underground conduit and wiring;
  • LiftMaster CAPXS Smart Video Intercom;
  • dedicated Starlink internet connectivity;
  • Cartell CW-SYS wireless automatic vehicle exit detection;
  • CAPXS pedestal installation;
  • drive arms fitted to the dual swing gates;
  • finished operator housings and completed system setup.

The developer's impressive gate, columns and signage remain the visual centerpiece of the entrance, while the automation and access-control equipment provide the functionality required behind the scenes.

Our Commitment Doesn't End at Installation

A subdivision gate is very different from a gate that opens only a few times each day at a private residence.

Residents depend on it. Visitors interact with it. Access-control equipment depends on internet connectivity. Vehicle detectors, operator controls and safety devices all have to work together as one complete system.

That's why our responsibility isn't simply to make the gates open and close on installation day.

North Georgia Fence Company installs, troubleshoots and services automatic gate systems throughout North Georgia. By understanding how the operators, access controls, connectivity and vehicle detection were installed from the beginning, we're in a much better position to help when the system eventually needs maintenance, adjustment or repair.

For a gated community, knowing who to call after the installation can be just as important as choosing the equipment installed on day one.

Why This Project Matters

A modern gated-community entrance is no longer just a gate and two motors. Projects like Marble Ridge show how commercial gate operators, video access control, internet connectivity and automatic vehicle detection can be integrated into one entrance while preserving the architectural appearance the developer worked hard to create.

It also demonstrates that lack of conventional internet service at a remote entrance doesn't necessarily prevent the installation of connected access-control technology.
