Project Facts
Dual Automatic Driveway Gate Installation at Glamp Blue Ridge, GA
North Georgia Fence Company installed two automatic driveway gate systems for Glamp Blue Ridge, a hospitality property in Blue Ridge, Georgia. The project included a decorative 16-foot main entrance gate, a custom-fabricated 20-foot exit gate, BFT automatic gate operators, programmable keypads, vehicle exit sensors, and battery backup systems.
The installations required coordination with the electric utility and an outside electrician because both gate locations were far from an existing electrical supply.
Our relationship with Glamp Blue Ridge has continued beyond the original installations through ongoing automatic gate service and maintenance.
Customer Problem
Glamp Blue Ridge needed controlled vehicle access at its main entrance and, later, at a separate exit road.
The property presented an important installation challenge: the remote gate locations did not have readily available electrical power.
The owners wanted dependable automatic gates with convenient access for authorized users and automatic opening for vehicles leaving the property.
The property offered another unique challenge: it required two automatic driveway gate installations at Glamp Blue Ridge.
- The main entry gate.
- A separate gate on a secondary exit road leaving the property.
Site Inspection and Planning
North Georgia Fence Company evaluated the gate locations, planned the operator and access-control installations, and coordinated the electrical requirements.
The electric utility was involved in making electrical service available at the gate locations. An outside electrician connected to the power drop and installed a load center, providing the 120-volt electrical supply needed for the gate systems.
This coordination was an essential part of preparing the remote entrances for automatic gate operation.
Main Entrance Gate Installation — November 2022
The first installation was the property's lower main entrance.
The owner purchased a decorative, arched-top steel driveway gate online and arranged for delivery to our facility. North Georgia Fence Company transported the gate to Glamp Blue Ridge and installed it at the entrance.
The completed system included:
- A 16-foot-wide decorative steel dual-swing driveway gate and posts
- BFT Kustos dual automatic gate operator system
- Two key-fob remote controls
- EMX-KPX100 programmable access keypad supporting up to 100 users
- Vehicle exit sensor for automatic opening when approached from inside
- Battery backup system
- 120VAC surge suppression, grounding, electrical boxes, and associated installation supplies
The result was a decorative entrance with automated access and convenient vehicle exit operation.
Custom Steel Exit Gate Installation — September 2023
Custom steel automatic driveway gate installations:
Several months later, after construction of the property's exit road, Glamp Blue Ridge called us back to install a second automatic driveway gate.
For this installation, North Georgia Fence Company fabricated a 20-foot-wide, flat-top, double-swing steel gate at our shop.
Unlike the decorative entrance gate, this gate was manufactured by our team specifically for the exit location.
The installation included:
- Custom-fabricated 20-foot steel dual-swing driveway gate
- Heavy-duty 6-by-6-inch steel gate posts
- Two matching 8-foot steel fence panels, one on each side
- BFT Kustos dual automatic gate operator system
- Two key-fob remote controls
- EMX-KPX100 programmable keypad
- Automatic vehicle exit sensor
- Battery backup system
- Surge suppression, grounding, and associated electrical components
The matching fence panels completed the entrance assembly and provided a coordinated appearance across the exit opening.
EMX Keypad Access Control
We installed an EMX-KPX100 programmable keypad that supports up to 100 users.
The keypad provides PIN-code access for authorized vehicles and visitors.
✅ The EMX-KPX100 keypad is hardwired to a constant power source, allowing it to have a backlit keypad that remains highly visible at night for easy accessibility.
Diablo Automatic Vehicle Exit Sensor
A Diablo vehicle exit sensor was installed to signal the gate to open when it detects an approaching vehicle from inside the property.
This allows departing drivers to exit without manually entering an access code.
