Ornamental Aluminum Pool Fence Installation in Jasper, GA
North Georgia Fence Company recently completed this ornamental aluminum pool fence in Jasper, GA, installing a 5-foot-tall black aluminum safety enclosure around a new residential swimming pool.
The project used Athens Residential ornamental aluminum fencing manufactured by Fortress Building Products, along with two pedestrian gates equipped with self-closing hinges and high-mounted magnetic safety latches.
The goal was straightforward: create a durable swimming pool barrier that provided the necessary safety features while preserving the open appearance of the pool area and newly constructed home.

Customer Problem: Creating a Safe Pool Enclosure
A new swimming pool creates an obvious need for controlled access to the pool area.
For this Jasper property, the homeowners needed a complete enclosure that would provide an effective barrier while complementing the appearance of the new home and outdoor living area.
Because the pool and surrounding property are visually attractive, a solid privacy-style fence would have unnecessarily obstructed the view.

Site Inspection & Pool Barrier Planning

The layout had to account for the pool deck, gate locations, post placement and openings throughout the enclosure.
For this installation, the posts were positioned beside rather than through the pool deck. Each post was set directly into the ground with sufficient concrete to provide a solid foundation while keeping the installation offset from the deck.
We also made sure no opening anywhere in the completed enclosure exceeded four inches.
That attention extends to the gates because the pool enclosure is only as effective as its access points.

We installed 5-foot-tall black Athens Residential ornamental aluminum fencing from Fortress Building Products.
Fortress manufactures Athens Residential from extruded aluminum and uses an architectural-grade powder-coating process designed to protect the fence from the elements. The system also uses hidden fasteners, helping create the clean appearance visible around this Jasper pool.
Another important consideration for this application is the spacing between pickets. Fortress specifies a 3-7/8-inch air space for the applicable Athens configuration, keeping the opening below four inches.
For homeowners, the result is a fence that provides the required physical separation without making the pool area feel closed in.
Pool-Safety Gate Hardware
The project included two pedestrian gates, and each gate required hardware appropriate for a swimming pool enclosure.
We equipped the gates with:

and
TRUCLOSE® Heavy Duty self-closing gate hinges.
The purpose of this combination is important: the hinges return the pedestrian gate toward the closed position, while the latch secures the gate after closing.

Setting the Fence Posts Beside the Pool Deck
Rather than core-drilling through the new pool deck, the aluminum fence posts were offset from the concrete and installed directly into the ground beside it.
The posts were set with sufficient concrete to create a secure foundation for the 5-foot fence.
This approach allowed the enclosure to closely follow the pool area while avoiding unnecessary penetrations through the finished deck.
The completed installation provides a clean transition between the concrete pool area, ornamental fence and surrounding landscape.
Final Result: Safety With an Open View
The finished pool enclosure combines an important safety function with an appearance appropriate for this newly constructed Jasper home.
The completed project includes:
